Shawna McGee is a successful women’s wear designer and illustrator from  Detroit, Michigan. Inspired by her seamstress mother, McGee studied fashion design at Cass Technical High School. Shawna attended Parsons School of Design where she enrolled in the Fashion Design Department. As an Undergrad, Shawna studied abroad in Paris where she indulged in French couture and culture. 

Shawna has enjoyed a full career working for some of the biggest names in the fashion industry. Shawna’s design experience has included everything from sportswear to accessories for Donna Karan and Louis Dell’Olio for Anne Klein, Ralph Lauren Sleepwear, Adrienne Vittadini, and Maggy London Dresses. Her work has appeared in magazines such as WWD, Elle, Essence, and Vogue. 

Never one to limit herself, she has also designed costumes for Nell Carter on the television hit show “Gimme a Break” and for stars Donna Summer, El DeBarge, and Kenny Rogers for JcPenny. In addition to designing, McGee has used her talents and knowledge to teach promising new design students at her alma mater Parsons School of Design, and the Fashion Institute of Technology. 

Shawna currently continues her excitement for fashion as a designer/illustrator. By using her original paintings to create her luxury clothing line S.MCGEE COLLECTION. Available online and in select stores.
